In one of his last Instagram posts, Leslie Jordan revealed he’d purchased his first condo. And not just any condo, but one with a “stunning” view of the sea.
Jordan was a bit cagey when asked about the $3.3 million house, which featured a pool and views of a cove near the Dominican Republic.
He told the Sun Sentinel that he wasn’t ready to break the news.
And why did he buy in the first place, exactly?
To “spend a little more time in Miami,” Jordan said.
The “F—ing Crazy” singer was on tour with the group Gourds in January of 2015 when he checked into the Ritz-Carlton hotel. He was greeted by a familiar face: a man who had played the same set in Florida several times: Chris Brown, his fiancée at the time.
“He’s like, ‘Whoa, I was thinking about you,” Jordan recalled. “And then we kind of talked for a couple of hours.”
What followed was a whirlwind romance and a whirlwind week. On Monday, Jan. 20, 2015, they attended a wedding together, later holding hands on the tarmac before Brown and wife, Karol Kennedy, boarded a private jet to the Dominican Republic.
Brown and Jordan had been together for a year and a half and planned to marry the following year.
On Monday, Gourds announced on Instagram that they’d “come through the ‘fro” on their annual tour. And that they’d do so without the singer’s co-headliner, Rihanna, whose performance was now scheduled for a previously-agreed-upon after party that weekend.
In any other show, the Gourds had little chance of breaking onto the Billboard charts. But since Jordan is one of the few male country artists with a career, his entry would make his first entry in the Billboard Hot 100’s charts
