The governor of Florida spoke at a concert Saturday during which thousands of Florida residents packed the historic Fort Lauderdale venue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing.
“What this event shows is a strong movement of the entire population that the first human to bring man to the moon can not be stopped or even slowed down,” DeSantis said as he took the stage at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
“As a son and a father, I’m very proud of his achievement and I hope America has not lost its faith in our nation and our men and women in uniform for the great and courageous act that they have done as a symbol of America reaching higher.”
