First Wolverine, now a ‘Deadpool’ Christmas movie? Ryan Reynolds strikes again after ‘Titanic’
The film is based on ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ and was written and directed by James Mangold.
James Mangold’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” was one of the most-mooted of the new Wolverine films. But the first Wolverine was first introduced in Marvel’s ‘X-Men: The Animated Series,’ and Ryan Reynolds is now going to have his chance to play his very own ‘Deadpool’ version.

But before the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie opens at the end of the month, Mangold has dropped a new trailer for “Deadpool,” featuring the new Deadpool in the role of Deadpool.
The trailer starts out with Deadpool talking to his younger self about his family. Deadpool’s younger self says he was bullied as a kid, but that he and his family were protected by Professor X. However, thanks to his family’s sacrifice, he turns out to be the best he can be.
Of course, that’s not all that Deadpool has to say about his older self. In the trailer, Deadpool says he’s going to make it a point not to return to his hometown of Cleveland. That could be a problem for the rest of the cast.
Mangold was the director on the X-Men Animated Series, and he’s been directing many successful films like “The Lovely Bones” and “The Dark Knight Rises.” Mangold had worked with Reynolds in his “Hobbs & Shaw” and also directed “The Proposal.”
For director of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” James Mangold, it may seem as though this will be Reynolds’ chance to relive his glory days as Wolverine for a second time.
“It’ll be fun. He was so much fun,” Mangold said during the interview for “The Hollywood Reporter.”
