How Afghanistan women’s football teammade it to Australia’s Biggest Female Show
The women’s football team was ranked #2 in the world and #1 in Afghanistan when they made it to Australia’s Biggest Female Show.
An Afghan woman who played for the women’s football team
The women’s football team was the first in Afghanistan to make it to the Biggest Female Show in Melbourne. They received an invitation from the Australian government and the Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard, for the Women’s Biggest Show of the Year in Melbourne.
The team came together in 2015 and has been playing football together for five years. They have played in many different fields including Afghanistan national football team field, Kabul University Field, Jalalabad Stadium, Afghanistan football national stadium and Afghanistan international football stadium for football matches. This program was also the first football team in Afghanistan to play a match in an international stadium.
