Description
This pretty doll was made by Morimura Brothers (1876-1941), a Japanese import house based in New York City, NY. They suppliedbisque head
German like copies of dolls to the American market and others, during World War I when trade with Germany ceased, and after until 1926. They imported two basic types of
bisque head dolls;
Character Babies or Dolly faced dolls. This doll is a fine example of their products. She stands 25" tall and has a perfect bisque head, with lovely blue glass open/close eyes with some of her original hair lashes still intact as well as painted lower lashes and a sweet smile with four glass teeth. Her composition and wood body has well modeled hands and feet, no repairs and has an old repaint. The mark on the back shows a hard to read maker's name in four letters, TRB? and underneath Made in U.S.A. I have not been able to find any information on this company. She is sold nude and without the wig shown.
