Antique German Bisque Doll with Paperweight Blue Eyes, in lovely Antique Dress

This lovely German Bisque Antique doll was made by
the Peter Scherf doll Factory in Germany. She has beautiful blue paper weight eyes and her teeth are showing in her open mouth, she is in wonderful condition for her age and reasonably priced. She still wears her original brown dress with delicate smocking and Victorian style puffy sleeves.
Her slightly feathered brown eyebrows are perfectly painted as are her outlined eyes and cheeks - lightly blushed giving her a natural look. Her lips are perfectly painted above and below and her open mouth  shows she brushes her perfect teeth every night. LOL and she has a darling dimple in her chin.  Her ears are protruding on either side of her head and are so cute under her honey colored wig.
She wears an antique brown cotton dress that hangs longer on her body at 14" long, but it is original to the doll. The puffy sleeves at her shoulder remind us of the real clothing worn by women and girls during the latter part of the 1800's. Her paper Mache lower arms and hands are in nice original condition with slight chips under the fingers from age and wear and they are attached to her cloth covered arms which can be carefully lifted up and down, perfect to dress or undress her.
Her body is firm and her legs and body are stuffed with sawdust. She wears a white cotton slip under her dress, just as all well dressed children did back then, though it has some stains from age. Her lower Paper Mache legs are adorable in that they are molded to resemble little girls socks with a red painted band at the top, and Mary Jane style black shoes with a black painted strap. Her legs are in fine condition for her age.
She is clearly marked at the lower part of her bisque shoulder plate P. Sch 1899 - 9/0 and dates back to the late 1800's. 9/0 is her mold number.  This lovely antique doll has been in a private collection for many years. The collector has allowed several authors to photograph this doll for their use in books they're writing on collecting P. Scherf antique dolls.
