    Description

THIS IS AN "AS IS" LISTING.  Here we have an unusual doll, made by Fulper around 1915 or so, one does not come across very often.  She is an American-made doll, produced during WWI, in reaction to the unavailability of German-made dolls.  These bisque dolls were only made for a short period of time, until the company was taken over by another, who distributed the remainder of their stock in 1922.  Her bisque has a tight hairline in the very back, which is very hard to see in our not-very-good picture of her hallmark.  Her wig covers this. (Okay..I'll get honest.  I accidentally deleted the good picture before putting the wig on her.  After the wig was on, it was almost impossible to get another clear picture.  There.  I confessed.  Deal with it.)  Other than this flaw, the rest of the head is fine.  This doll has a very unusual look to her and in doing research, most of Fulper dolls had a differing look about them.  She has blue glass eyes which are very pretty and her lips are pronounced with red lips and two white teeth.  Her cheeks are chubby and nicely blushed and her eyebrows defined.   The curly brown wig seemed to suit her best as it matched her brows very well and set off her blue eyes nicely.  Her body seems to be made of oilskin with wear at the area where the lower leg meets the knee joint.  This area was mended prior to reaching our possession, however, we checked this mend for leakage and found it solid.  We have dressed the dollin an adorable romper outfit which consists of a short over-dress and short pantalettes.  The dress is a cute print of autumnal flowers and try-to-find-the-hiding kitty: gold, green, yellow, gray.  Just gorgeous!  Then the outfit is trimmed with flat ecru lace at the cuff of the sleeve and the hem of the dress.  Trim on the pantalettes and even the shoes, carried forth the print of the dress.  The shoes are a bit too big for this doll, but we photographed them with her because they just looked too precious on her.  We suggest stuffing her stockings to make her foot big enough!
